The University-Milieu Liaison Office

The professional learning center

In order to better respond to firms’ and organizations’ needs for professional training and innovation in the Outaouais region, the University created the University-Milieu Liaison Office in 1995. The Liaison Office provides public organizations and private firms with the following services based on the University distinctive competencies:

- Professional Training and Conferences
- Applied Research and Innovation Expertise

The Liaison Office also acts as a partner in developing social, cultural, scientific and economic initiatives in the region, as well as in contributing to the international reach of innovative and training projects.

Professional Training and Conferences

Professional training or conference services are focused on professionals and managers needs for their individual development as well as for improving their contributions to their organizations and communities. These activities are developed with the help of distinctive University strengths and competencies. The following services are offered:
- Public short training sessions
- Professional Conferences or Symposiums
- Customized training programs

Key University expertise for Professional Training:

- Multimedia Communication - Accounting and Finance
- Project Management - Human Resources Management
- Team Leadership - Organizational Changes
- Social and Psychological Health - Computer Technology and Software

Participants grant a training certificate indicating the number of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) awarded for the activity. CEUs are largely used in Canada and in the USA, as well as by a number of professional associations for assessing continuing education and development.

Applied Research and Innovation Expertise

The University is at the forefront of knowledge in a number of key domains for organizational and firm success. The Liaison Office provides customized services for facilitating knowledge and technology transfer to your organization, such as:

- Partnering for collaborative research
- Conducting studies, evaluation or tests
- Developing strategic regional initiatives in innovation

- Language Technologies Research Centre
- Photonics Research Centre
- Research Chair in Distributed Computing
- Intelligent Spatial Systems Laboratory
